JobHook runs a missed-call text line for trade contractors. This policy explains what information we collect, why, who sees it, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do with it. It applies to this website and to the texts JobHook sends.

Who we are

Our role

When we text people who called a business using JobHook, we do it for that business. The business decides what to do with the lead (for example, calling you back) and may have its own privacy practices. If you want your information deleted, tell us and we will delete our copy and ask the business to delete theirs.

What we collect

If you call a business that uses JobHook

When the business misses your call and we text you on its behalf, we may collect:

• your phone number;
• what you tell us by text: your name, the service you need, your zip code or address, and how urgent it is;
• photos you choose to send;
• a voicemail, if you choose to leave one;
• whether your number is a mobile phone or a landline (so we don't text a phone that can't get texts);
• the texts we exchange, with the times they were sent.
• information we are given about the business that uses JobHook (its name, phone numbers and the owner's cell number).

If you are a business that uses JobHook

We collect your business name, your contact details, the phone lines you forward, and billing information once you pay. Payments will be handled by a payment company, and we will not store full card numbers.

If you fill out the form on this website

We collect your name, business name, trade, the phone number and/or email you give us, whether you agreed to get texts (and the wording you agreed to), and any message you write. To stop spam, we also keep a scrambled one-way code made from your internet address. We never store the address itself.

When you visit this website

Our hosting provider automatically keeps basic technical logs, such as your internet address, browser type and the pages requested, for a short time to keep the site running and secure. We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking tools. See the cookie policy.

We only collect what we need for the purposes below. Please don't send sensitive information like payment card numbers, Social Security numbers or health details by text or through the form.

Why we use it

• To answer the caller's request and pass the details to the business they called.
• To get back to you about a free trial you asked for.
• To keep the service working, secure and free of spam.
• To follow the law, for example to honor opt-outs.

Who sees it

The business you called sees the details you sent them. To run JobHook we use service providers that handle information only to do that job for us: Twilio (sends and receives the texts, calls and voicemails), Vercel (hosts the website), Supabase (stores the database) and Anthropic (an AI service). Your text messages are sent to Anthropic's AI so it can write the next question. Photos you send are not sent to the AI service. We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect someone's safety, or if JobHook is sold or transferred, in which case this policy would still apply to your information.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.

The business you called and the service providers named above only receive your information to deliver the texting service you asked for. They are not allowed to use your phone number or consent for their own marketing.

We don't sell personal information, and we don't use it for targeted advertising.

How long we keep it

• Text conversations and voicemails are deleted automatically after 90 days.
• Photos you send, and the texting provider's own record of the texts, are stored by our texting provider (Twilio). They are not yet deleted on the schedule above. If you want them deleted, contact us and we will delete them.
• Free-trial requests from this website are deleted after 365 days.
• Spam-prevention codes are deleted after one day, except the one saved with a trial request, which is deleted with that request.
• A record that you opted out of texts is kept so we keep honoring it.

You can ask us to delete your information sooner.

How we protect it

Information is sent over encrypted connections, stored in a database that only our server can reach, and the admin area is password protected. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach ever affected your information, we would notify you as the law requires.

Your choices

• Reply STOP to any JobHook text, or tell us in any other clear way, to stop getting texts from that line. See the SMS terms.
• Ask us to see, correct or delete your information by emailing [support email to be added]. We'll answer within 30 days. We honor these requests no matter which state you live in.
• Because we don't track you, "Do Not Track" and Global Privacy Control signals don't change anything here: there's nothing to turn off.

Children

JobHook is a service for businesses and isn't meant for children under 13. We don't knowingly collect their information; if you think we have, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use information we already have, we'll tell affected customers before it takes effect.
