Terms of service

Last updated October 25, 2026

Draft: this page is waiting on review by a lawyer and may change before JobHook launches.

These terms are an agreement between you and [legal business name to be added] ("JobHook", "we"). They cover your use of this website and, if you're a business customer, the JobHook missed-call text service. By using the website or the service, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use them.

1. Using this website

  • You may use this website to learn about JobHook and to request a free trial.
  • Don't misuse it: no attempts to break in, overload it, send spam through the form, or copy it with automated tools.
  • We try to keep the information here accurate and current, but it may change, and examples on the site (like the sample conversation) use made-up names and numbers.

2. What the service does

When a business customer misses a call that was forwarded to its JobHook line, JobHook texts the caller in that business's name, uses AI to ask for basic job details, and texts the business a summary. JobHook only collects information. It does not quote prices, book appointments or make promises on the business's behalf.

JobHook is not an emergency service. Texts can be delayed or not delivered, and AI-written messages can contain mistakes. Callers with an emergency (like a gas leak, fire or flooding near electrical equipment) should call 911 or the right utility, not rely on a text.

3. Your responsibilities as a business customer

  • Give us accurate business information, including what's needed to register your texting with phone carriers (10DLC).
  • Only forward phone lines you own or are allowed to use.
  • Use JobHook only to respond to people who called you. Don't use it for marketing texts, and follow the texting and consumer protection laws that apply to your business.
  • Follow up with callers yourself. The work you do for them is between you and them; JobHook isn't part of it.
  • Keep your login details private and tell us right away if you think someone else has them.
  • Make sure the business and phone lines you give us are really yours, and tell us right away if a caller complains or asks you to stop.
  • Honor any caller who asks you to stop contacting them, whether they said it to us or to you.
  • Don't give us, or ask the assistant to say, anything that is false, misleading, unlawful or that promises prices, times or results you can't keep.

4. Free trial, plans and billing

  • The free trial lasts 7 days on one line and starts on the day call forwarding to your JobHook line is turned on. No card is needed and you're never charged automatically when it ends.
  • If you choose a paid plan, it renews automatically every month at the price shown on the pricing page until you cancel. The one-time setup fee is $199 and is waived when you keep JobHook after the free trial.
  • You can cancel anytime by texting, calling or emailing us. Service continues to the end of the month you've paid for, and you won't be charged again. Refunds are covered in the refund policy.
  • We'll give you at least 30 days' notice before changing your price. A founding-customer price stays the same for as long as you stay subscribed.
  • Founding rate: the first 10 Kansas City customers pay $99 a month with no setup fee. The rate stays while the account stays active and may change if you cancel and come back.
  • No payment is taken on this website.

5. Texting rules

How texts work, how often they're sent, and how to stop them are covered in the SMS terms, which are part of these terms.

6. Your information

How we handle personal information is explained in the privacy policy. As a business customer, the lead details collected for you are yours; we use them only to run the service for you and delete them on the schedule in the privacy policy.

7. Ownership

The JobHook name, logo, website and software belong to us. You may not copy or resell them. You keep ownership of your business information and your leads.

8. Ending the service

You can stop using JobHook at any time. We may suspend or end service if you break these terms, don't pay, or use JobHook in a way that could break the law or harm others. If we end the service for reasons that aren't your fault, we'll refund any prepaid time you haven't used.

We may pause service right away if a phone carrier, Twilio or the law requires it, or if your texts are causing complaints. When the service ends, we delete the conversations and leads we hold for you on the schedule in the privacy policy, and you can ask us in writing to send you a copy first.

9. No guarantees

We work hard to keep JobHook running, but the website and service are provided "as is". We don't guarantee that every call will be texted, that every text will be delivered, that AI messages will be error-free, or that JobHook will get you any particular number of jobs. Phone carriers, Twilio and other providers can delay or block messages for reasons outside our control.

AI messages can be wrong or incomplete. You are responsible for checking details with the caller before you quote, schedule or start work.

10. If something you do causes a claim

If someone makes a claim against JobHook because of how you used the service (for example, using it to send marketing texts, giving us wrong business information, or breaking a law that applies to your business), you agree to cover the reasonable costs and damages from that claim, as long as we tell you promptly and let you help with the defense. We will do the same for claims that our own software infringes someone's rights.

11. Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, JobHook isn't liable for lost profits, lost jobs or indirect damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

12. Disputes

If something goes wrong, contact us first and we'll try to fix it. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, and any court case will be handled in the state or federal courts located there.

13. Changes of ownership and assignment

We may transfer these terms if JobHook is sold or reorganized. You may not transfer your account without our written OK.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and for business customers we'll give notice before a change that affects you takes effect.
