SMS terms

Last updated October 25, 2026

Draft: this page is waiting on review by a lawyer and may change before JobHook launches.

These terms explain the text messages sent by JobHook missed-call text lines. They are part of our terms of service.

1. Program name and who sends

Program name: [Business name] missed-call text line, run by JobHook. JobHook sends these texts for trade contractors (roofing, HVAC, plumbing, electrical and similar businesses). Each text comes from the phone number of the business you called and says which business it is for.

2. What the messages are for

When you call one of these businesses and nobody answers, you get a text in that business's name asking what you need. If you reply, an automated assistant asks a few questions (your name, the service you need, your zip code, how urgent it is, and a photo if you want to send one) so the business can call you back. If you text the business's number first, we reply the same way.

  • How you opt in: by calling the business, or by texting its number. The text we send is a reply to your call or text.
  • Only about your request: these texts are never advertising or promotions.
  • How often: message frequency varies. Usually no more than seven messages from us for each call, and then it stops.
  • Cost: message and data rates may apply, based on your phone plan.

3. Trial texts from JobHook

If you ask for a free trial on this website and tick the texting box, JobHook may text you about setting up your trial. The box is never ticked for you, and you do not need to tick it to get a trial. The exact wording you agree to is:

I agree to get texts from JobHook about my free trial at the number above. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Agreeing isn't required to get a trial.

4. Stopping texts

  • Reply STOP at any time to opt out. You will get one text confirming it, then no more texts from that line. Words like QUIT, END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE or REVOKE, or a message like "stop texting me", work too.
  • You can also opt out any other reasonable way, such as emailing [support email to be added] or calling or texting [support phone to be added].
  • Reply START to opt back in.

5. Getting help

Reply HELP to any text to get the business's phone number, or contact us using the details below.

6. The fine print

  • Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
  • Agreeing to texts is never a condition of buying anything.
  • The texts are written with the help of an AI service and may contain mistakes. They are not an emergency line. In an emergency call 911.
  • How we handle your information is in our privacy policy. We do not sell or share mobile numbers or texting consent for marketing.
  • Supported carriers include the major US carriers; we do not guarantee delivery on every carrier.

7. Contact
